What
is available in the archive?
The archive is a database of The Sun and News of the
World articles as they appeared in the print editions
of each paper and that are more than 24 hours old. The
archive dates back to 1996. The articles are available
in text format only.
What
is NOT included in the archive?
1. Articles less than 24 hours old. You can find most
articles less than 24 hours old for free on www.thesun.co.uk
and a selection of articles up to one week old are available
on www.notw.co.uk.
2. Photographs, graphics, advertisements, cartoons and
other illustrations.
3. Articles that exclusively appeared in the online
editions of The Sun and News of The World. The archive
database contains only articles from the print editions.
Is
it possible to obtain information not included in the
archive?
Yes. If you wish to purchase photographs, for example,
please refer to the Syndication
service on our main site.
How
do I obtain access to an archived article?
Searching the archive is FREE. You will only
be charged to retrieve (download) an article, for which
you need to subscribe to the service. Click

How
do I pay for the articles and how much does it cost?
You do need to pay in advance for articles. When you
subscribe to our archive service, you are able to select
a pricing plan that is tailored to your needs - the
more articles you download the cheaper it is. Click

do I know how much credit I have in my account?
Once you have subscribed and are logged in, you will
be able to monitor your account by clicking on the My
Account button on the left-hand navigation bar.
Do
you offer discounts for educational institutions?
Yes. Please contact archive@the-sun.co.uk
for information on pricing for educational purposes.
I
can't find an article I want.
Try to make your search as specific as possible. Our
search tips are an excellent source of information on
getting the best results for your search. Don't forget,
searching is FREE.
How
do I search for a story by a particular journalist?
The easiest way is to include the reporter's name in
the search terms. You can also type the surname in the
byline field.
What
